This is a speakeasy bar located inside Milroy’s – London’s oldest whiskey shop – offers whiskey and whiskey only. Five stars for their customer prevention policy, zero stars for the customer service. Despite this, she was still insistant that we leave, which we did in disgust vowing to never return. We said that that was fine, and we'd be happy to wait ten minutes on the off chance. After some more prompting, she eventually admitted that the tables had been booked for 9pm and that 'if they're not here in ten minutes, their bookings will be cancelled'.
Given that by now it was 9.25pm, I enquired what time the tables had been booked for, which she intially declined to answer.
A microsecond later a woman (who I assumed to be the manageress) came storming up and asked us to leave, informing us that all of the empty tables had been booked. On pointing out we came in through Milroys the same way as everyone else (there is only one entrance/exit), we proceeded to sit down at one of the few empty tables.
On entering the bar, we were approached by one of the barmen and brusquely asked 'how did you get in?'. I attended this bar last night with a girlfriend and am sorry to have to report one of the rudest customer service experiences I have ever received.
